This design is far from our former one, because this designcombines functional and Ergonomics, which we never touched before.So let''s show you how this laptop stand come truth.
Starting:
At the beginning of design, we just want to know this product isto prevent cervical spondylosis and makes laptop have better heatreleasing.
And the customer needs us to provide the services as below:
1. Design is on the appearance, function, LOGO aswell as package.
2. Mould making.
3. Mass production of molded parts.
about the other details should be managed by ourselves. It seemsthat this is a tough work for us to do. So we have to clear ourthread.
Firstly, we measure the size of the laptop on market. We foundthat it is very hard to design one stand to suit all the size. Sothe first concept is for 12" and 14" laptop.Second one is for 9"and 7". How much the laptop stand should be raised? Of course, thisquestion should be answered by the experts of Ergonomics. After aprofound discussion, we finalize 3 angles to suit on desk, onlap and in bed.It seems that the problem is so easy tosolve from our words, but actually we spend quite a whileon trial and checking.
Introduction:
After we finish the discussion of function and Ergonomicsdesign, we extend the range of
application, which the customer doesn''t consider.

You can adjust angles when you are in bed, on lap, on desk, etc.Then you can choose which one is the most comfortable one.

4. Hollow out design to release heat without extra electricalpower, in order to prolong the life of laptop.Also there are someothers accessional function:

Up to now, our designers are clear what product it shouldbe.
Process:
After the first design, we make prototypes. Form the prototypes,we found the problem of balance of top plate is a key problem. Theheight of lip plate should be adjusted. Steady of supporting plateshould be reconsidered.
So we update the design. We change the position of supportingplate (moving backward to
prevent distortion of top plate) to solve the problem of platebalance when quite a heavy one is putting on stand. We reduce theheight of lip plate to avoid fingers interference when typing.
We add three grooves to fit 3 angles to enable the supportingplate can be inserted into the grooves.Then, the top plate andbottom plate will not be divided when moving the laptop stand.
After this modification, all the discovered problems are solved.Lucky, the customer and Richland get an agreement of the design. Sowe start to make the mould.
Service:
During the period of time of making mould, we negotiate the logowith our customer.
This is so easy to handle. Then, we begin to design the package.The customer is a distributor, so we should provide finished setproduct to him. As you can see, the outer package is an importantfactor to influence the distribution. Both the customer andRichland take seriously. We provide a draft idea for the customerto refer.
After a discreet consideration, the final pattern is comingout.
So we make the carton according to the customers'' idea.
Meanwhile, the final product is ready.
